Our Journey began in the Spring of 2010. Having rejected all means of modern photography, which daily entangles us in paradoxical images, we decided to limit ourselves within the boundaries of past methods, “discussing” at the same time the contemporary side. The captured images remain unadulterated, original, portraying reality and feelings in the most direct way. No use of make up, no hair styling and no retouching. The photographs are simply the truth.
The lens focused on each subject’s favorite body part and became the active focus of the whole experience. We soon realized that by making the model part of the creation, she began, consciously or not, to reveal personal aspects. Without being able to even imagine what would follow, the obvious external characteristics faded, giving their place to previously hated imperfections. The human part of them became the object of the lens. Secrets, stories of pain engraved on their bodies and souls, stood in front of us. Today, all these beautiful women are here, standing naked, revealing their flaws. They never gave in to the social or professional pressure to alter something. Why? They wished to remain unique.
This is a desire we share, the message that every single one of us, accepted and loved as we are, is perfect. Because every imperfection is perfect.
The laws of traditional photographic development have not been violated. Printings on various size paper (between 30×40 and 110x165cm) in black and white are perpetuating this sense of uniqueness. An attached, continuously ‘on’, mini speaker under each photograph will be telling each individual story, in the model’s native language, creating a multilingual ‘noise’ in the room. When the guest stands in front of a picture, that specific story will assume a starring role, leaving all others in a buzzing background. Everything comes alive. The interaction between the viewer and the image, their private ‘discussion’, destroys the silence that usually rules in this sort of exhibition. The feeling of a room filled with life stories which surrender in order to be shared remains fundamental. In addition, a video capture of the photo sessions will be projected on a wall. The creation process boils down to this: the effort of understanding the mind and soul of another human being.

This exhibition is the rigorous fruit of a very special coexistence, that of the Artist , the professional models and every day people, and the lens. This is the path selected, moving towards a beautiful knowledge, an intimate touch much more dynamic than the naked flesh. Every photograph contains a well guarded secret that remained in our protagonists’ hearts for years. Their private truths, their ideals, their experiences have built their image. The photographic lens became a means of purification and rebirth. Everyone is revealed in all their greatness and uniqueness. The democracy of this world, the superficial or deeper transformations, or even distortions, will forever feed our existence…
